Operator and acceptance
This site is operated by Justas Jarmalavičius (individuali veikla), publishing as drivenerve, the family of driving tools carwashindex.com belongs to. By using the site you accept these terms; if you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
The service
carwashindex reads publicly available weather forecasts for a location you choose and computes an informational 0–100 score, verdicts (WASH / BORDERLINE / WAIT), suggested wash windows and related figures, using the penalty method published openly on the forecast page. The service is free and requires no account.
Informational only — not a guarantee
Scores, verdicts, windows, confidence figures and dry-day estimates are derived from third-party weather forecasts, which are inherently uncertain, and are provided for general information only. They are not professional, meteorological or vehicle-care advice. You remain responsible for your own decisions — including checking the actual sky, protecting your vehicle in cold weather, and complying with local water-use rules (hosepipe bans and drought restrictions exist in several of the markets this site serves; the index scores weather, not law).
Third-party data and links
Weather, air-quality and geocoding data come from Open-Meteo under its own terms; we do not control and cannot guarantee the availability or accuracy of that data. Links to external sites are provided for convenience; their content is theirs, not ours.
Affiliate disclosure
This site carries one affiliate partner: CARiD, a car parts and car care retailer serving the United States. Its link appears in the after the wash guide, and under a finished WASH verdict on US locations. It is labelled as a partner link and marked rel="sponsored". If you buy after following it, we may receive a commission; your price is unaffected. We are not the seller, we take no part in your purchase, and any order, payment, delivery, warranty or return question is between you and that retailer under their terms.
Guides on this site are written before any commercial arrangement is considered, and the recommendation that leads every section is the free one. No partner influences the index: not the score, the WASH / BORDERLINE / WAIT verdict, the wash windows, the dry-day estimate, or which cities appear. The advice in the care guide is general information, not professional vehicle-care advice; product labels and local water-use rules take precedence over anything published here.
Downloads
The score card image and calendar reminder are generated in your browser and provided as-is. Calendar times reflect the forecast at the moment you saved them; forecasts drift, so recheck before you fill the bucket.
Acceptable use
Do not abuse the service: no scraping or automated access at volumes that burden the site or the free APIs behind it, no attempts to disrupt or probe the site, no misrepresenting its output as your own commercial product, and no use of the service for anything unlawful.
Intellectual property
The site's design, brand marks, text and code are owned by the operator or its licensors. You may use the service, and share its outputs (score cards, links), for personal, non-commercial purposes. The drivenerve family marks may not be reused without permission.
Warranties and liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law. To that same extent, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, nor for loss arising from reliance on a forecast-based verdict — including a rained-on car, frozen door seals, water spots or a wasted wash. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, and nothing affects statutory consumer rights or guarantees you hold under the law of your country of residence (including in the EU/EEA, UK, Australia and New Zealand).
Changes
We may change the service or these terms at any time; the date above moves when we do. Continued use after a change means acceptance of the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the European Union member state in which the operator is established, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence. Disputes go to the courts competent under those rules.
